Ep. 01

Our first episode is jumping right into a topic we feel is of utmost importance, mental health. We wanted to discuss this topic with y’all because everyone at one time or another deals with the reality of mental health. Life is tough and we cannot just pretend that bad days don’t exist, but we also do not have to stay in a funk.

Today’s episode is all about how to be proactive with your mental health and some strategies that Alie uses to care for and check in with her own mental health. She’s talking all about strategies like speaking positivity, nutrition, boundaries, organization/cleanliness, sleep hygiene, and more! If you have ever felt the whirs of chaos and anxiety, or the deep slump of depression this episode is for you. Let’s jump in and find out how to “live good good” in our mental health!

Ep. 02

Today’s episode is all about friendship, and who better to talk about friendship with than one of my very best friends. My friend Perry is really intentional in the ways she approaches not only our friendship, but a lot of the roles and relationships she cultivates daily. She is a youth leader teaching kiddos, occupational therapist treating patients, and a friend who shows up when you need her. She is constantly pouring out and she does it so well.

Today we’ll talk about what she looks for in friendships, how they can look in different seasons, things she does to show up for people, and more. Perry is an excellent mentor and friend, and that’s why I just knew we needed her in this episode! To share with you all they know about Living Good Good in friendship. I hope you enjoy this episode!

Quotes Mentioned

“It is important to focus on making people feel seen, heard, and loved. It depends on the person, and how they feel seen, heard, and loved.” -Perry

“I used to get really upset when I put energy into a friendship and there was none reciprocated…but the last few years I’ve realized they just may not have the capacity to do life with me right now. And that’s okay, and it’s not because of me.” -Perry

“You're the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” -Most commonly attributed with Jim Rohn, also sometimes modified to “show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future.”

Ep. 03

Today’s episode is all about toxic health and diet culture. Alie discusses how to take a step back and analyze what you really see as healthy. Alie talks all about her health journey and how she got to where she is today. She’ll talk about pros and cons to the diet trends she has been a part of over the years and provide encouragement for you to take control of your own health. Alie challenges us to think for ourselves about health and to be careful which voices we allow to speak to us about it.  She hopes that you can take this information and use it as permission to pursue health in a way that may be counter cultural. We don’t always need to hop on the new health trends, or be into the latest “health” product.  We hope this episode inspires you to look at wellness and health through a new lens, and not get bogged down by all the fad diets and latest trends, so that you can “live good good” in your health journey too!
